McGill finally made a decision on MAC arena and it’s not the one we expected. Both the building manager and MBHL were shocked that the executives decided to pass on revenue and leave the building empty as they tackle the necessary repairs to their ice systems. This has left MBHL somewhat depressed, to be honest. Our backup plans to use Le Rinque 4×4 Saturday and Sunday afternoons will be what we have to offer for the fall season. If you have any interest as a team or an individual player to play at these times, please reach out to us. We will also continue to explore what else could be done for a Winter Jan-Apr season. We will be offering a summer 2025 season at DDO, Westwood, Dorval and/or Ray Bourque arenas. Planning for these seasons will start early. Since Club West Island opened in Fall 2011, MBHL has managed to keep a 5×5 west island league going year round through some ups, downs and much uncertainty. It seems that our luck ran out with some stubborn land owners decided to pull the plug with 2 weeks notice at Club Dome. We are sorry and hope to have some better news soon.
